| I’m Kalena. I know it seems like an “interesting” name, but don’t worry, it’s pretty easy to pronounce (kuh-lee-nuh). Before deciding to become a wedding planner, I was flittering about wondering what kind of career could possibly require excellent list-making skills, a Martha Stewart obsession, and a need to entertain on a regular basis. It wasn’t until I began planning my own wedding, and volunteering as a Hostess for Project Wedding, that I realized what I believe my heart knew all along.
When my husband and I moved (back) to the San Francisco Bay Area after a 10-year stint in San Luis Obispo, I saw the perfect opportunity to start my career change. In January 2012, I earned my Wedding Planner Certification, and I am currently a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants. I’m also AED, First Aid, and CPR certified; you might say that I like to be prepared! There’s little I enjoy more than using my creative talents to help bring a couple’s wedding vision to life, by either offering theme inspiration, providing graphic design work, or simply troubleshooting those issues that are bound to pop up. I’d love to help you plan an event that shows off who you are individually and as a couple, while taking the stress out of planning your big day.
